The great technology and a UK charity together to design and deliver a game that can accelerate the search for new cancer drugs.
Scientists at the Cancer Research UK are leading a project with the help of the major players in the technology world, Amazon, Facebook and Google, to create an application for smartphones that will allow anyone who wants to see scientific data.
1 to 3 March 40 selected application developers, computer graphics and other experts in the IT community have been found for a weekend at GameJam, an event aimed at identifying how the proposition, the large and diverse audience of mobile telephony, data obtained from cancer research. The basic idea of the scientists is to find new methods of diagnosis and treatment thanks to the contribution of ordinary citizens.
Cancer Research produces impressive amount of data to be analyzed. Computers can very, but in certain situations, the human eye is irreplaceable. In fact, the eye is able to detect elements that computers are not programmed to detect.
According to forecasts the game's release is scheduled for mid-year.
