Let's see how to update our Corby Smartphone latest version of Android available, the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
We have already thoroughly discussed the Samsung I5500 Corby Smartphone, a low-end device of the Korean company that has made several throat because of its low price and the Android operating system released with it.
This device is for quite some time "abandoned to its fate" by Sasmung, which no longer offers any update for that device stop to very old version of the Google OS 2.2 EnClair.
Thanks to the work of the development team MadTeam it was possible to overcome this problem with the release of a version of the famous CyanogenMod 7.2 for I5500 with Android 2.3.7 Ginbgerbread (of which there is a guide here on MegaLab.it) , which was much appreciated by the users is that the development team official Cyanogen, which inserted between the versions officially recognized.
Obviously, this ROM has been able to postpone the problem of lack of updates for a while ', but now the release of the 2.3.7 SW of Big G is outdated and lacks several features essential to a modern smartphone, which makes a new update absolutely necessary.
Initially, the team MadTeam attempted to make a port of CyanogenMod 9 with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, which, however, has had several problems in the development and was abandoned by the same developer.
At this point it was decided to take the leap, and develop a version for the release of the latest-I5500 ROM CyanogenMod 10.1 with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and after several months of work finally released MadTeam the first really stable version of the operating system.
This ROM brings with it a series of important innovations for our Corby Smartphone, including:
Quick Settings for instant access to the main system settings Kernel 3.0.31 with greater stability than that on the CM7.2 search system and voice recognition Google Now Compatible with major applications thanks to Android 4.2.2
This ROM, such as the CM9 does not allow you to move as the CM7.2 any applications natively on the external SD card, as this feature has been removed from Android 3.0 Honeycomb, but if we installed it as an upgrade from previous version of the mod you can still move applications through software Link2SD.
In the following pages we will see how to install the ROM better.
