How to count the download in public folder in Dropbox?

Dropbox offers a very useful service, but sometimes you feel the absence of a download-counter: see how to get around this problem with a simple trick.
Dropbox is primarily a service that allows you to synchronize files and folders between multiple devices and share them quickly and easily with other members of a workgroup.
In general, Dropbox offers the user the ability to share and synchronize the contents of several folders with other registered users, or keep it private (if not shared). The folders "special" that Dropbox uses are therefore a point of contact made through the network between two devices, even for different users.
The service also offers each user a public folder, whose contents can be shared with all users of the Network, whether or not listed at Dropbox, provided you know the URL of the resources contained. For each file included in the "Public" folder is then associated with a specific URL, but this does not apply to the collected files in folders sync or share.
Although not its primary purpose, can then serve as Dropbox (thanks to "Public" folder) from cloud storage platform independent. Despite this exciting potential, the service is not yet ready to compete in this point of view with other file hosting services specializing in: a major point against it is given by the absence of a counter for files you download.
On several occasions, in the official forum, Dropbox users have asked developers to implement this feature, but currently to no avail.
