The only antivirus to protect your computer, now is not enough, there are so many types of malware around the Web that it takes a multi-layered protection, a good firewall, preferably fitted with Hips, provides a defense better.
The first task of the firewall is to control the network traffic in and out, when you are connected to the Internet, if it has Hips also checks for abnormal activity of programs on your computer, such as the creation of services unexpected access to the Internet at the wrong times, or malicious changes to the system.
To check if our firewall protects us really know today a set of tools and online services able to put it to the test. As a "guinea pig" we will use Online Armor firewall that we met in this article, but the tests are usable with any firewall, preferably with Hips.
