Restore the "Compatibility" tab on Windows Vista / 7

It may happen that, due to the particular configuration, this particular tab disappears and is therefore necessary to restore it.

With Windows Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise can use group policies, from Start - Run type the command gpedit.msc .

Select Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows Components and compatibility between applications .

Choose Remove Program Compatibility Property Page .

To restore the Compatibility Tab Missing must be set to Not Configured or Off .

While if you find it set to Enabled , the Compatibility tab will be missing.

And the state Not Configured initial will be spent in Enabled .

With all editions of Windows Vista (and in particular for Home Basic and Home Premium, where the Local Group Policy Editor is not present) you can use the Reg files that are attached to the article.

Using the Rimuovi_Tab_Compatibilità.reg you can remove the tab, while the Ripristina_Tab_Compatibilità render visible again compatibility tab.

Simply double click on reg file and choose Yes to confirm and Ok when prompted.

Through the configuration register

Start by - Run type the command regedit and bring to this registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Policies Microsoft Windows AppCompat

If you find a registry key as DisablePropPage and set value to 1, the tab is not visible, to make it reappear just set it to 0 or delete the same key the register.
