Are you ready to throw away Windows 7? The next Windows will come from a few years. But it is still early to talk about "new features".
Windows 7? It is now ancient history. A slide officer, shown during a presentation dedicated to the partners but then published online by the ever attentive Stephen Chapman of Microsoft Kitchen sets a date for the availability of Windows 8: we speak of 2012.
In truth, it's more a confirmation than a revelation. Experts, for some time, looked right in the period between 2011 and 2012 as a possible reference window for the new operating system.
It is not surprising that the next Windows could come so soon. Microsoft has repeatedly reaffirmed its intention to reduce to three years, the distance between a version of Windows and the next, thereby retaking the cadence of roughly 95/98/ME/2000 strand.
In this case, however, there may be too ambitious a goal. Windows 8 will in fact be a major release in the strict sense. Instead of Windows 7 so it will not be a product designed to enhance the predecessor, but, rather, an operating system features significant changes, even under the hood.
It is therefore not ruled out the possibility that Windows 8, including development, testing and corrections, will see the light in the final version only towards the end of this year or even delayed until early 2013.
Unless the possibility, more and more remote, that can be conveyed in 128-bit version, you do not yet know much about the latest offers. We expect improvements to the mechanism, however, file management, network capabilities and, of course, always a greater integration with the services offered by the Internet.
Although "Windows 8" is, to date, only the code name of the software, it is certainly possible (or even "likely") that Microsoft may decide to keep the same name for the final version. On the other hand, the same had happened with Windows 7.
