Are you willing to try Linux, but you also want to pre-installed Windows? Just create a dual boot: following the directions of our comprehensive guide, you will discover that it is not that difficult to do.

Installation Guide Ubuntu dual boot with Windows Vista

For a long time I wanted to try to know the Linux world and I finally decided to install Ubuntu in dual boot with Windows Vista (I could not give up for work reasons).

I performed the tests with Windows Vista Business and Ubuntu 9.04, but do not exclude that the information provided can be adapted to older operating systems or different versions of Linux.

This guide is intended for a Windows user who has never had experience with the world of the penguin: Linux commands and programs there will surely be able to do even better, the same actions that we will explain later, but for the moment face them.

Since you can try Ubuntu directly from the Live CD without installing anything on your computer, I recommend you do this test. So you can see where this is fully compatible with your computer, and with all its hardware, and if it fully satisfies your needs.

Once you start the computer with the Live CD, just choose the first menu item, Try Ubuntu without changing your computer .

If, after trying Ubuntu, you see that corresponds to your expectations, then you can continue reading the guide. If you do not like it, maybe tell us why in the Forum.
