7stacks brings the dock in Mac OS X on Windows

Thank 7stacks, you can create on Windows (XP/Vista/7) menus similar to those displayed by the Dock of Mac OS X. Thanks Aero graphical interface, toolbars appear translucent and full of shadows.

The graphical interface of Windows 7, Aero, broadly supports transparencies, drop shadows and animations. All graphics worthy of note, no doubt.

7stacks (free download) is software compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP that allows you to create a sort of Quick Launch toolbar can be positioned in the taskbar with which to launch our favorite applications with a few clicks and with a graphical interface based on Aero.

Although compatibility is declared for Windows XP, the best results are obtained on systems with Aero interface, then Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Users of Windows XP could affect more Standalone Stacks, a similar program best suited to operating systems that do not have Aero.

Once installed 7stack Start menu, find the voice Create new 7stack ; clicchiamola.

From here, we can create our own custom Quick Launch toolbar. In the first field, we enter the path of the folder as a container for toolbar: in practice, all the files and links in the selected folder will be included in the bar.

In Caption we have to type the title in our toolbar, while Stack Type the type of toolbar that we want: we will soon see the difference between the options available.

In the field Icon you can choose to associate an icon to the toolbar. If you leave it blank, you used the default icon representing a folder green. I recommend using this feature especially if you intend to create multiple toolbars, apparently because otherwise they will all be equal.

There are also other options:

Show "Explore" item on the stack : the item shows Explore to display the contents of the folder in Windows Explorer. Browse subfolders Within The stack : allows you to browse the subfolders in the folder directly from the main toolbar. Hide file extensions : hide the file extension. display thumbnails of images in the Grid : the case of images, it shows the preview mode Grid (grid). This is a function that will slow the display of the toolbar. Use transparent (non-glossy) look : When enabled, the toolbar will be completely transparent, "glass". But it can cause confusion with the desktop icons or the writing of open applications, as shown in the image below.

Once the process completes, click on Create Shortcut on Desktop .
