In recent days I have been called upon to solve a technical problem rather curious.
The PC displayed correctly on screen information about the BIOS and Windows loading screen, only to display an image is completely distorted after the completion of loading the operating system, so it is impossible to interact with the machine.
Speaking with the owner of the system, I could tell that the user had set the screen resolution to a value too high for real capacitandagrave; hardware available.
To resolve this problem, it would be necessary to restore the correct setting. But .. how to do it, because the image on the screen was just a cluster of colored lines indistinguishable?
Some users, thank you, have reported a different approach to the problem, press F8 during startup of the operating system, and proposed menu, select Enable modalitandagrave; VGA . This allows you to log on to Windows with the basic settings of the video card, and thus set the parameters manually. The script previously proposed is still a valid solution at all automatic.
The solution
The problem andegrave; piandugrave indeed, easy to solve than it seems. Among the various solutions available, I chose to proceed in this way:

Among the many outstanding tools to change the resolution from the command line, the program selection andegrave, fell on the QRes AKSoftware, a result also compatible with Windows Vista.
As for autorun however, I first created a file named fix.bat with these commands
@ Echo off QRes.exe / X: 800 / Y: 600 / c: 16 breaks
And then a file called autorun.inf, can run automatically when a disc (for details in this regard, I refer to the article "Adding to the AutoRun removable memory")
[Autorun] open = fix.bat
Once mastered it all, andegrave; enough to insert the CD into your PC run down to solve this problem: the same CD in ISO format ready to burn, andegrave; attached to this article.
What if autorun andegrave; disabled
If the PC had to save the funzionalitandagrave; auto-execution disabled, we must proceed in an alternative way. In particular, we will put in the Startup folder a second script, able to call our fix.bat the CD on the first reboot.
First, boot the PC modalitandagrave; provisional.
Launch Notepad and now enter the following commands in a new file
@ Echo off d: fix.bat e: fix.bat f: fix.bat g: fix.bat h: fix.bat i: fix.bat breaks
Save it on your desktop with any name, and extension . Bat (be careful not to name. Bat.txt).
Now open the start menu, and locate the group Esecuzione automatica: Right click on it, and select the Apri.
Copy the script into the folder created earlier, then insert the recovery CD and restart your PC modalitandagrave; normal.
If all sarandagrave; successful, a few moments after starting your system sarandagrave; restored. Before you uncork the champagne, Auxiliary Make sure you delete the file from Startup, otherwise verrandagrave; a restart at every restart.
