Microsoft has released a preliminary version of the network in Office 2010. Just a simple registration to access the next incarnation of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and company. Between small and large variations are mainly users of Office 2003 to see major changes.

The product, progressive 14.0.4536.1000 (remember that the "13" was skipped for good luck), is available in both 32-bit compilation, and in that 64-bit. The differences, in terms of yield, are indeed quite contained. To benefit the most from addressing 64-bit is particularly Excel, which becomes capable of handling a greater number of rows, columns and values. However, there are many environments in which it is possible to test these differences: certainly not in the financial statements of SMEs or inventories or in the management of the family budget.
The suite can be downloaded from here. Microsoft points out, however, that this software is not yet fully mature, not to be used in production environments: in case a second PC is not available for these tests, the use of tools like VirtualBox or Returnil Virtual System can be a ' excellent alternative.
Once installed and activated by the product key sent by e-mail, the package is fully usable without any limit whatsoever until April 5, 2010. After this deadline, the application becomes unusable and must be uninstalled.
What's new
If users of Office 2003's new look numerous, the improvements are more content for all those who had already migrated to version 2007.
Compared with the technology preview of May instead, the product is significantly more mature. In addition to a significantly improved stability, are appreciable variations in their backstage Office 2010, new icons, a setup procedure faster and more numerous smaller improvements.
In contrast to the 4417 compilation, now known as the "upload center" with which to load documents on a secure server to access it even from the web, is now fully operational.
Office Web Apps
At the same version installed, Microsoft has also opened the doors of the Office Web Apps, or the browser accessible implementation of the suite (for more information, see the news "Office Web Apps opened the gates to meter"). To use the feature, simply load the document from the voice Share -> Save to SkyDrive from the panel and then backstage access your SkyDrive account.
This feature is currently showing still some uncertainty, probably caused by the heavy traffic generated by the novelty.
Outlook 2010
To show the most significant improvements is definitely Outlook. If in fact the 2007 version was still using the classic approach to menus and toolbar, this "2010" introduces the same view of the Ribbon in Word and Excel, as well as several tools for managing e-mail conversations and other activities communication and personal organization.
A special mention deserves the opportunity to use multiple Exchange accounts, a feature much requested by users.
