The first beta testers have received the "Technology Preview" of the next version of office suite. While the build escapes on BitTorrent, you can also request an official invitation.
As each version of Windows released over the years, Windows 7 will be joined by a new release of Microsoft Office, the most popular suite of office applications developed by the Redmond giant.
Some preliminary build of Office 2010, known until a few months ago with the code name "Office 14", are already in possession of the beta testers for some time now, but it is only towards the end of last week that Microsoft has made available the first "technology preview" of the package
This version offers compilations trial of Word 2010, Excel 2010, Outlook 2010, PowerPoint 2010, OneNote 2010, Access 2010, InfoPath 2010 and Publisher 2010, each available in traditional dress, or 32-bit, for the first time, even as a native application 64-bit.
How to get
Initially, the developer had delivered the Technology Preview only stood a number of testers.
But later, the company has set up a page of public record, through which interested users may request an evaluation copy of the product. Or, more precisely, may submit their applications to Microsoft, who will invite the most deserving to beta testing in mid-June.
The software is compatible with the last three versions of Windows: Windows XP Service Pack 3 onwards.
The flight on BitTorrent
As already happened in dozens of occasions during the development of Windows 7, however, even the bits of the new Office are promptly finished circuits sharing illegal content.
In particular, a simple search on a few websites dedicated to BitTorrent now returns a long series of results, some of which, according to dozens us enthusiastic comments left by fans, seem to convey precisely what was promised.
When will it arrive?
Microsoft has not yet announced the timing for finalization and marketing of Office 2010.
According to previous statements of the number one company, however, the suite will not arrive on the shelves before the year to come.
It is interesting to note that the development of software inherently less complex than an entire operating system as Windows 7, now seems to have already reached a good level of maturity. Counting that the next version of Windows will come in the autumn, it is natural to ask what reasons the company may have to further delay the availability of the office suite so it is not impossible that it is, again, a mere declaration of "worst case" and that the successor of Office 2007 will arrive around October.
