Let's see how to add one or more custom shortcuts in the Desktop context menu of Windows 7 to launch any application.
You may need to have links to certain applications or websites directly from the context menu that is activated by clicking the right mouse button on the Windows desktop.
To do this we must add some keys in the registry of Windows.
Alternatively, a simpler method is to use automated software that can add context menu items according to our preferences.
In Start - Run (Windows Key + R keyboard, if not visible) type regedit and bring on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT DesktopBackground Shell
In the left window click with the right mouse button on Shell and choose New - key giving it any name.
Click the right mouse button on the key you just created, and add a new one. This command must have the name .
On the right screen, change the value (Default) found the link and enter the application you want started.
Going up a level, change the value entered in the ( Default ) and a title given to the connection you are creating.
You must then create two new String values in the left window. The first named Icon , where you can choose to display an icon next to the title (the icon needs to be contained within a DLL) and then in the second string, called Position should be given the position of the title if Top (top) or Bottom (bottom) in the context menu.
The end result will look something like this.
But in the context menu that will be the effect
No one will stop you from creating multiple connections to different application
If you do not want to hand directly to the registry, you can use the files that are attached Desktop_context_menu article. Once opened, you must then modify it to suit your needs.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT DesktopBackground Shell crazy.cat]="** MegaLab.it Start ** "" Icon "=" imageres.dll, 202 "" Position "=" Top "[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT DesktopBackground Shell crazy.cat]@= "IExplorer www.MegaLab.it"
The file contains numerous imageres.dll icons, at least from 1 to 215: just change the number after the decimal point to choose a different icon.
But I have not found a way to preview them in a precise way to choose an icon, and then try to change the number until you find one you like.
Help can come from in that attivtà IconsExtract, but not always the number shown in brackets coincides with the index to be used as an icon.
