Measure the time required to start up your PC

Very often we are asked: "How long does it take to start up my PC?". The technique certainly piandugrave; andegrave used, to check with a manual stop watch, but it is a very imprecise method.

In this article we propose a program that takes care of for us to count the seconds when the computer starts.

Before starting andegrave; perandograve; should make some comments.

To test the program I have left to do while I checked with my stopwatch to see if there was some similarity with the times provided by the application.

The program will start counting from when the BIOS screen gives way to boot the OS, so if you want to recheck the calculation must start the stopwatch at the moment.

The program ends when the count all programs start automatically and all the desktop items are loaded and used. In fact, when the light with the hourglass (or cylinder) stops blinking.

The program andegrave; can be downloaded from here (freeware for personal use only, in English, which is compatible with Windows XP and Vista). Once downloaded, run the msi file and follow the installation procedure. Eventually, the program should start automatically. In the event that this does not happen, you will find the link to the application installed in the Start menu.
